VOLUNTEER

The Mission has many areas that utilize the assistance of Volunteers. From one individual to groups of ten, there are a variety of interests at the Mission.

Do you have a special skill or offer a professional service?  Union Gospel Mission is always looking for skilled hairdressers, barbers, medical professionals, arts and craft skills, and many others who would like to volunteer their time and skill with us.

Meal service is one of the most popular areas to volunteer at the Mission. Preparing and serving meals to those less fortunate is a rewarding experience for both the giver and the receiver.

Chapel services and ALPHA classes are another area of great service to the Mission. Sharing the Good News of Jesus and His love for His people is a great blessing to those we serve.

Hosting an afternoon activity such as BINGO or movie day is another fun volunteer activity. Groups bring BINGO prizes, drinks and snacks and spend a few hours playing and interacting with our residents.

Children’s parties are another popular activity at the Mission. Holiday parties such as Valentine’s Day and Easter are a hit with the kids.  A monthly birthday party for all the kids is another great way to share.

Landscaping is a volunteer activity that is supervised by the Fort Worth Master Gardner’s Association. They join us every Monday to mow, water, plant, pull weeds and keep the outside grounds looking like the Garden of Eden. If you are not afraid of hot, hard work, this activity is for you!

Host a Bake Sell or Organize a Needs Drive in honor of the mission

A drive is a fun way for individuals to come together to make a difference by collecting items needed here at the mission.  If you would like to host a bake sell in honor of the mission, please contact us to obtain educational pamphlets about Union Gospel Mission to present at the time of your bake sell to inform the community about who we are.
