ADMISSION POLICIES

Each day hurting individuals come to us because they, or someone they love, are homeless.  Residence at Union Gospel Mission is open to all.  The Mission operates 4 residence facilities: the Women’s Center serves single women, the Family Center provides housing for mothers with children, McFadden Hall is a residence for senior women, and the Men’s Building houses single men with a limited number of rooms available for fathers with custodial children.

Admission to Women’s Center

INTAKE PROCEDURE:  Call for information 817-332-7531
HOURS:  Intake:  Mon – Sat.  9:00-11:30 am and 1:00-4:00 pm  Sun. 2:00-4:00 pm
FEES:  Call for information

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be female, 18 years of age or older.
  • Be capable of independent living throughout their stay.
  • Complete an admission application, including a complete and factual disclosure of mental and physical history. Failure to disclose this information will cause the application for admission to be denied.
  • Have or obtain a legal state picture identification and a Social Security card.
  • Provide a copy of an Award Letter and/or proof of income.
  • Provide a list of prescription medications to the facility Manager. This list should be updated any time a new prescription is given after becoming a resident
  • Receive treatment for any communicable disease or condition (such as lice) which pertains to the applicant, before being introduced into the communal environment.
  • Obtain TB testing as directed by your case manager.

 

Admission to Family Center

INTAKE PROCEDURE:  Appointments preferred. Call for information 817-332-6908
HOURS:  Mon - Sat 9:00-11:30 am and 1:00-4:00 pm  Sun 2:00- 4:00 pm
FEES:  Call for information

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be female, 18 years of age or older, with children.  Boys over twelve years old are not allowed.
  • Be capable of independent living throughout their stay.
  • Complete an admission application, including a complete and factual disclosure of mental and physical history. Failure to disclose this information will cause the application for admission to be denied.
  • Have or obtain a legal state picture identification and a Social Security card.
  • Provide a copy of an Award Letter and/or proof of income.
  • Provide a list of prescription medications to the facility Manager. This list should be updated any time a new prescription is given after becoming a resident
  • Receive treatment for any communicable disease or condition (such as lice) which pertains to the applicant, before being introduced into the communal environment.
  • Obtain TB testing for yourself and children as directed by your caseworker.

 

Admission to McFadden Hall

INTAKE PROCEDURE:  Call for information. 817-332-7747   
FEES:  Sliding scale fee for all residents ranging from $210-$300 per month.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be female, 50 years of age or older.
  • Have good mobility and be capable of independent living throughout their residency.  McFadden Hall is not a nursing home and health care is not provided.
  • Complete an admission application, including a complete and factual disclosure of mental and physical history. Failure to disclose this information will cause the application for admission to be denied.
  • Have or obtain a legal state picture identification and a Social Security card.
  • Submit a written list of personal items and needs assessment list.
  • Submit a written inventory of personal property brought to the facility (such as furniture, televisions, radios, alarm clocks).  The facility manager shall sign this written list and a copy will be retained in the resident’s file.
  • Provide a copy of an Award Letter and/or proof of income.
  • Provide a list of prescription medications to the facility Manager. This list should be updated any time a new prescription is given after becoming a resident
  • Perceive treatment for any communicable disease or condition (such as lice) which pertains to the applicant, before being introduced into the communal environment.
  • Obtain TB testing as directed by your case manager.

 

Admission to Men’s Building

INTAKE PROCEDURE:  Men's overnight emergency dormitory:  Walk in 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Intakes for males seeking residency:  Appointment or walk-in Mon - Fri 9:00-11:30 am and 1:00-4:00 pm.  817-332-3019   
FEES:  Call for information

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Male 18 years of age or older
  • Capable of independent living throughout their stay
  • Complete an admission application, including a complete and factual disclosure of mental and physical history.  Failure to disclose this information will cause the application for admission to be denied.
  • Have or obtain a legal state picture identification and social security card
  • Provide a list of prescription medications to the case manager or facility manager.  This list should be updated any time a new prescription is given after becoming a resident.
  • Receive treatment for any communicable disease or condition (such as lice) which pertains to the applicant, before introduced into the communal environment.
  • Have a current TB card issued by a local shelter or obtain a TB test at the next testing date.  Staff will notify residents of TB testing dates, times and locations.

 

Union Gospel Mission expects all residents to abide by the rules of conduct set by the Mission.  These policies will be explained and a copy provided at the intake interview.
